You and your family are the center of our team, and the program will empower you to achieve a successful surgery. Our team approach emphasizes patient education. Teaching individuals undergoing spine surgery what to expect before, during and after hospitalization can have an important impact on recovery and overall satisfaction.
Features of the Program

- You will meet with your primary care physician for a history and physical.
- You will meet with a pre-operative nurse, a case manager and a physical therapist prior to your surgery.
- During your hospital stay, you will meet with the physical therapist twice a day. She or he will provide education regarding assistive devices, spine protection and energy conservation techniques that will prepare you to return to your normal activities.
- You will have case managers following your hospital stay to provide discharge and insurance assistance.
- The nursing staff will assess your overall status and pain management needs to keep you comfortable during your hospital stay.
