YVMC’s Special Care Nursery utilizes the services of our Neonatal Nurse Practitioners which allows the Family Birth Place to care for mothers and their babies born up to two months early.

While infants born earlier than two months may require transfer to a tertiary perinatal center, these infants are able to return to our community hospital to be cared for locally until ready to be discharged home.
